Capacity- Strengthening Training for staffs of CWIN-Nepal on Online Child Protection

13th July 2023, Kathmandu.

CWIN Nepal, in collaboration with the Good Shepherd International Foundation (GSIF), has successfully organized a capacity-strengthening training program focused on combating the online sexual exploitation of children (OSEC). The training, which brought together staff members from all seven provinces of Nepal and across various departments, aimed to equip participants with the necessary skills and knowledge to tackle the pressing issue of OSEC effectively. The training covered a wide array of topics, including the tactics employed by perpetrators, the impact on victims, legal frameworks, reporting mechanisms, and victim support services. By successfully organizing this training program, CWIN Nepal reaffirms its commitment to protecting children from online exploitation and creating a safer digital environment for the children of Nepal.

Online child sexual abuse remains a grave concern worldwide, with increasing access to the internet. Predators exploit digital platforms to groom, manipulate, and exploit vulnerable children using new and complicated ways. CWIN Nepal has been working continuously to make the online space safe for children since 2008 AD. CWIN Nepal, with partners and like-minded organizations, has been supporting Nepal’s government for stronger legislation, international cooperation, and educational campaigns to raise awareness about online safety and protect children from harm.
