Kathmandu, April 2, 2025 – The Kanti Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (CAP) Unit observed World Autism Awareness Day with an informal yet impactful program aimed at spreading awareness, supporting families, and fostering inclusivity for individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
The event organized by CWIN-Nepal with the support of FORUT Norway, featured informative sessions led by psychiatrists, who provided crucial insights into autism, its challenges, and available support systems. Additionally, a parent of an autistic child shared their personal experiences, offering valuable advice on navigating education, social interactions, and therapy options. Their testimony served as an inspiration, reinforcing the message that no parent is alone in this journey.
To extend awareness beyond the session, informational pamphlets on autism were distributed among attendees. The program concluded with a warm gathering where parents and children shared tea and biscuits, fostering a sense of community and support.
By organizing this event, the Kanti CAP Unit reaffirmed its commitment to raising awareness about autism and ensuring that families receive the guidance and encouragement they need.
