Demonstration against rape

Child Workers in Nepal Concerned Centre (CWIN) participated in a mass demonstration in the Capital on 12 March against the brutal rape of six-year-old Puja Sah from Bara district, who breathed her last on 8 March.

The demonstrators demanded identification and custody of the culprits related to this incident. They urged the government of Nepal to file rape as well as murder charges against the perpetrators, to provide immediate compensation to the victim’s parents and, also to cover all her hospital charges. At the same time, they also called for strict laws against rape and acid attack and their effective implementation.

Politicians, activists and the general public took part in the rally that commenced from Bhadrakali and concluded at Basantapur Dabali. They also lit candles in the memory of the deceased rape victims.
